In the last few months, the media has reported on a number of last minute execution reprieves. From Richard Brandon to John Grisham, many used their voice to give incarcerated individuals a voice. Some were lucky - if you could call it luck - but not all.
John Huffington of Baltimore battled and survived a 32-year sentence on Death Row - against the odds. How did he make it? What drove his decisions? What is he most proud of? And why does the system still get it so wrong?
Dr Louise Hewitt, Founding Director of the Innocence Project London and Associate Professor of Criminology at the University of Greenwich will explain why this happens, why this matters and compare legal systems globally.
Also hear a local community and human rights perspective from Angelina Jao, Harvard Club of Mayland Co-President.
This interview will be moderated by Nuala Walsh, President of the Harvard Club of Ireland, Chair of the Innocence Project London and author of TUNE IN, an exposé of the psychology of misjudgement.
Find out why this is still happening - and what YOU can do to help the wrongfully convicted in your city wherever you live.
DON'T MISS IT!
