Powerful images define the creative revolution that began in Dresden and Munich at the beginning of the 20th century. Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Wassily Kandinsky, and Franz Marc were the leaders of this creative revolution who sought through their art to liberate themselves from the older generation and bring about a universal spiritual rebirth. We will be able to see how their vision was realized through more than 30 bold paintings and prints, vivid watercolors, and highly expressive figural sculptures that capture the spirit of this exciting time. The artworks are from the BMA and private collectors and include an important group of rarely shown prints.

We will be sending out a full announcement of this tour around the first of April, which will include more detailed information about the exhibit, RSVP and payment information and deadlines, and where to gather for the tour on April 27. Of note, the two times for the tour, 2 PM and 3 PM, are due to the BMA staff setting 25 as the maximum number of attendees for each docent led tour. Since we have had more than 25 attendees at our tours in the past, we arranged for two time periods to allow all those interested in attending to be able to do so.
